Bitskwela Kicks Off Blockchain Summit with Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela
Yesterday October 14, students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV) took part in the growing national conversation around blockchain as Bitskwela Youth brought its campus-based Blockchain Summit to the city.
The event, which focused on blockchain education and future career readiness, aimed to give students a hands-on introduction to blockchain technology—not just as a financial tool, but as an emerging layer of public infrastructure.
The summit featured interactive workshops, career orientation tracks, and knowledge-sharing sessions from Web3 builders and advocates. With local and national discussions ongoing about how blockchain could enhance transparency and digital governance in the Philippines, the youth-focused event placed students at the intersection of innovation and civic technology.
The summit was made possible in partnership with Stellar and Anichess, with support from Coins.ph, G!G, and the Blockchain Council of the Philippines. Its staging at PLV reflected growing collaboration between the private tech education sector and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), which continued to back public education initiatives aligned with the country’s digital transformation goals.
As Web3 innovations advanced across finance and governance, with legislative discussions such as Senate Bill 1330 exploring blockchain’s role in national budget tracking, events like the PLV summit underscored the importance of building public literacy and student engagement from the ground up.
