World Launches AgentKit to Enable “Human-Verified” AI Agents
The identity network World (formerly Worldcoin) has launched AgentKit, a developer toolkit designed to enable AI agents to prove they are backed by real, verified humans.
Announced on March 17, 2026, the beta release introduces a new model for the emerging “agentic web,” where autonomous AI systems can act on behalf of users while maintaining trust and accountability.
The initiative is supported by Tools for Humanity and integrates with infrastructure developed alongside Coinbase and Cloudflare.
What AgentKit Does
AgentKit allows developers to create AI agents that are cryptographically linked to real humans using World ID, the platform’s proof-of-personhood system.
Through a delegation model, users can authorize AI agents to act on their behalf while preserving privacy.
Key capabilities include: proving that an AI agent is backed by a unique human identity, enabling agents to interact with platforms using verified credentials, and preventing impersonation and large-scale bot abuse.
The system uses Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) to confirm identity without revealing personal data.
Integration with Crypto Payments
AgentKit also connects with the x402 protocol, a micropayments standard developed with Coinbase and Cloudflare.
This allows AI agents to: make small payments using stablecoins like USDC, pay for APIs, services, or digital goods autonomously, and participate in machine-to-machine commerce.
The combination of identity verification and payments creates a trust layer for AI-driven transactions.
Use Cases in the “Agent Economy”
The toolkit is designed for applications where distinguishing real users from bots is critical.
Potential use cases include:
- e-commerce and online marketplaces
- API access and pay-per-use services
- fraud prevention and anti-bot systems
- autonomous digital assistants managing transactions.
By linking AI agents to verified humans, platforms can ensure that actions—such as purchases or interactions—reflect real user intent.
Early Access and Scale
AgentKit is currently available in beta and can be accessed by developers with a verified World ID.
The broader World network has reportedly reached nearly 18 million verified users, providing a large base for potential adoption.
The integrated x402 system has processed over 100 million transactions since its earlier rollout.
Broader Implications
The launch comes amid rising concerns about AI-driven fraud and automated bot activity across the internet.
Industry data suggests bot-related activity increased significantly in 2025, prompting demand for stronger identity verification systems.
AgentKit positions World as a provider of a “human layer” for the internet, aiming to balance: automation through AI agents, trust through verified human identity, and privacy through cryptographic proofs.
World’s AgentKit introduces a new model for AI interaction by linking autonomous agents to verified human identities. By combining identity verification with crypto-based micropayments, the platform aims to enable more secure and trustworthy AI-driven transactions in the rapidly evolving agent economy.
