Bitskwela Brings Blockchain Summit to University of Baguio: Students Show Growing Curiosity for Web3
BAGUIO CITY — On November 6, the Bitskwela Blockchain Summit brought together students from diverse fields at the University of Baguio for an afternoon of hands-on learning, real-world insights, and future-facing dialogue on blockchain.
Organizers and speakers praised the energy of the students in attendance, citing the “thoughtful questions and clear eagerness to learn” as proof of growing youth interest in emerging technologies. The event featured sessions on how blockchain connects to everyday life, career paths, and even personal hobbies; paired with a strong emphasis on responsible use and digital safety.
“We’re happy to be providing proper blockchain education one university at a time,” shared Andrea Castillo from Bitskwela. “The crowd was great and very eager to learn, which was really encouraging to see.”
Hands-On Learning Through Games and Safety Talks
In partnership with Anichess, students experienced how blockchain can be applied beyond finance, including through strategic gameplay. Anichess introduced attendees to its chess-inspired game model, illustrating how blockchain enables verifiable, community-driven gaming experiences.
Meanwhile, Coins.ph took the lead in educating students about digital asset safety, sharing practical steps for secure crypto use and highlighting opportunities for local involvement in Web3 development.
One University at a Time
The summit is part of Bitskwela Youth’s ongoing campaign to raise blockchain awareness among Filipino students, not just as a technology, but as a future layer of public infrastructure and professional opportunity. With national efforts around digital governance and financial innovation gaining momentum, grassroots education remains critical.
By bringing together blockchain advocates, startup leaders, and learners in cities like Baguio, Bitskwela continues to build a bridge between today’s students and tomorrow’s tech-powered future.
